The students in Mr. Shipley's Intro to Industry class recently auctioned off a handmade American flag. The flag was made out of recycled pallet wood. The students pulled apart the pallets, fastened the individual boards together, notched out the edges of each stripe, sanded, primed, and painted the flag.
Dr. Lane purchased the flag through the auction and donated the flag back to CHS to be put on display in the trophy hall foyer of Trout Arena. In addition, the students donated half of the money they earned to the Veteran's organization, K9's for Warriors. They chose this charity because K9's for Warriors rescues animals from kill shelters and trains them to serve veterans who are dealing with negative mental and physical effects of their service to our country. We are proud of these students and appreciate Superintendent Dr. Lane's generosity for the cause.

Congratulations to Jeh'Chys Brown, Carson Green, and Arion Hill for advancing to the IHSA State Track Tournament this Friday and Saturday at Eastern IL University in Charleston, IL. Go Orphans!

English 3 students have been studying the concept of the American Dream. The big question being, “Does the American Dream inspire or destroy?” The students created posters based on what they believe the American Dream does using pictures, words, and quotes.

The Introduction to Game Design class created a putt-putt golf course and programmed their Bolt robots to play the holes from start to finish. The Bolt robots are coded using JavaScript blocks.
