
Orphan Bowler, Blade Schriefer, has qualified for the Collinsville Bowling Sectional this Saturday, January 21st at the Camelot Bowl in Collinsville. The Sectional will start at 9:00 am and tickets can be purchased on the GoFan app for $7.00. Good Luck, Blade!

Mrs. Simonton's life skills class learned the importance of brushing their teeth twice a day by doing an experiment with eggs. They soaked them in fruit punch, cola, chocolate milk, and sweet tea and observed the impact it had on the egg shell, which represents the enamel of the tooth.

1/16 - 8:00 pm - WF vs. Orphans
1/17 - 6:00 pm - Orphans vs. Cairo
1/20 - 7:30 pm - Orphans vs. Herrin

The Annie’s Basketball game at Cahokia today (1/12) will now be varsity only contest with a 6 pm start.

REMINDER - Orphans boys' basketball will play varsity only tonight starting at 6pm against KIPP in Trout Arena!

The Annies will be at the Vandalia Tournament next week opening up play on Monday, January 16th vs Greenville at 1:00 PM.

The Orphan bowling team will compete in the IHSA Regional that Saturday, January 14th at the Salem Bowl in Salem. Bowling will begin at 9:00 AM and there is a $5.00 admission fee.

Orphan Basketball will play a Varsity only game vs KIPP tomorrow, Tuesday, January 10th at 6pm in Trout Arena. This is in place of the cancelled Mascoutah game.

Due to a schedule conflict, the JV/Varsity Boys Basketball game for tomorrow, Tuesday, Jan 10 is cancelled.

Centralia High School is seeking applications for a 10 month secretarial position in the attendance office. Start date is approximately February 1, 2023. Letters of application and resumes should be submitted to Dr. Chuck Lane, Superintendent, at Centralia High School, 2100 E. Calumet, Centralia, IL 62801. The deadline for applications is Friday, January 20, 2023. Interviews may begin prior to the deadline.

The Annies Basketball game vs Marion on January 24th has been moved to a 4:45 pm JV start with the Varsity to follow at 6:15 pm.

The Monken Shootout is once again be a part of each home Orphan basketball game! We have added an additional opportunity for participants to win the $500 shootout money that is offered at each game. The start time of the boys basketball game against Breese Central on Tuesday (1/3/23) has been moved up to 6:00 pm.

The Introduction to Game Design class built their own mini golf holes and programmed their Sphero Bolts to play the course. Everyone got at least one hole-in-one!





CHS Class of 2020 Alumni, Natalie Aarons, spent her day talking to Mrs. Burmester's Career classes about her experience at SEMO. She encouraged students to do research on your school choices and explore all degree options. Natalie encouraged students to get involved and make the most of their college experience as well as stay focused on their studies. The students had the opportunity to ask questions as well as learn more about SEMO and what it has to offer.


The Art Club enjoyed a pyramid of popcorn and a movie after school for their Christmas party. If you look really close, you might spot Santa in one of these pictures!



Orphan Fans, let's pack the house tonight for the Boys Basketball BlackOut Game!


The Orphan bowling team was scheduled to bowl on December 17th in the O'Fallon tournament. That tournament has been rescheduled for January 7th with an 8 am start time.
The Orphan and Annie bowling teams have also added a match on January 10th vs Salem at the Salem Bowl. The start time for this match is 3:30 pm.
