Mrs. Miller's public speaking classes are finishing up demonstrative speeches this week. Students have done various demonstrations including: how to apply makeup, playing guitar, rock painting, no bake cookies, clapping rhythms, and shaving a patient to name a few! Students have been very creative.

Honors English 3 students got into character of “the man” in “To Build a Fire” by losing the function of their fingers. Students had to write their names with the heels of their hands, their elbows, and anything but their hands or arms!

Centralia National Honor Society will be collecting food from the community on Saturday, March 25th from 9 am until 12 pm. Please place your bags with non-perishable food items near your front door and NHS members will drive around to collect them. Emma Heern and Teya Knox of the Centralia FFA Chapter participated in the Section 21 Public Speaking Leadership Development Event hosted by Kaskaskia College on March 21st. Emma participated in JV Extemporaneous, where she drew a topic that night and had 30 minutes to prepare a 4-6 minute speech on that topic. Emma placed 2nd in her event. Teya participated in the reciting of the 5 paragraph FFA creed. This event is for freshman FFA members only. Teya placed 6th in her event.
