Our Accounting 2 students all passed the Intuit Certified Bookkeeping Professional exam this week! This certification will allow our students to be more employable right out of high school. The core concepts covered in the exam include accounting basics; accounting for assets and sales transactions; accounting for liabilities, equity, and purchase transactions; reconciliation and financial statements. The Kaskaskia Region of the Illinois Principals Association held their annual Student Recognition Breakfast at Greenville College on March 13. Jordan Wiley of Centralia High School was recognized for his outstanding accomplishments at CHS including but not limited to his leadership, citizenship, academics, and performance in fine arts. Jordan will be graduating from CHS this May and plans on attending Eastern Illinois University next fall to major in Biology. Pictured are: Assistant Principal Mr. Bobby Brenneisen, Principal Dr. M. Thank you to AirEvac out of Mt. Vernon for spending their morning with Mrs Bousman’s Health Occ students and telling them about all the exciting careers in flight nursing and paramedics.

The Centralia High School Wrestling team is hosting an open mat for all incoming and returning students interested in joining the team. It will be held on June 9th at 10:30 am. More dates will be planned afterwards.
Annies Softball Update: The Annies game vs Pinckneyville on Monday, May 18th, is cancelled and will not be made up.

ATTN CHS Students and Parents: The Skyalert phone messaging system is currently experiencing issues. This is a reminder that Centralia High School will run on the School Improvement Schedule tomorrow, Friday, May 8th. Classes will be dismissed at 12 pm; buses will run at 12:07; and no lunch will be served. CHS will have food trucks on the back parking lot beginning at 11 am until 1 pm. Tomorrow's trucks are Big Daddy's Floating Rib, Taco Joe's, & AJ's Ice Cream.
