Graduated from University of Illinois, B.S. in Economics/Insurance

Started insurance career with
New York Life Insurance Company in St. Louis

Became owner of Insurance Partnership Agency in Centralia

Serves as board member of St. Mary’s Good Samaritan Hospitals
and the Felician Services, Inc. in Chicago

Serves as chairman for the Centralia Redevelopment Commission
and the Centralia Foundation

Serves as director of Centralia Industries

Has served in numerous positions for a multitude of boards
and committees locally and statewide

Received the Centralia Jaycees Distinguished Service Award

Received the Centralia Chamber of Commerce
Small Business of the Year Award

Class of 1976 

Attended Lakeland Junior College
& Northwest Missouri State University

Was a 1st Round Draft Pick 1979

Played in the Minor Leagues 1979-1981

Played in the Major Leagues 1982-2000

Member of the Minnesota Twins World Series Championship Team 1987
MVP of the American League Championship Series 1987

Received 4 Golden Glove Awards

Recipient of the Silver Slugger Award 1995

Elected to the All-Star team twice 1988 & 1989

Only player ever to start 2 triple plays in one 9-inning game
(picture and ball displayed in Baseball Hall of Fame, Cooperstown, NY)

Started 6 triple plays during his career-a Major League record

Served as hitting coach for the Houston Astros in the 2005 World Series

Served as hitting coach for 8 years in the Minor Leagues

Manager of the minor league team "Skeeters" in 2012

Served as biology/science teacher/football coach
for Effingham and Crystal Lake South High Schools

Served as instructor at McHenry County Community College

Member of the SIU All Decade Football Team
Selected Northern Illinois Football Coach
for the years 1982-1984-1986

Dallas Cowboys
Atlanta Falcons
